After being absent from the spotlight for two years, Johnny World returned to the World Series of Poker in 2002 by participating in the Seven Card Stud tournament and reaching the final table, but Hennigan would become even more famous four days after that participation. Specifically, Hennigan did well in the $2,000 HORSE tournament edition, where he made it to the grand final and took home the competition title, along with $117,320 plus his first World Series of Poker bracelet, after beating the legends Men Nguyen and Phil Ivey.

After that episode, Johnny World went another two years without attracting attention at the WSOP, returning to the series only in 2004. On that occasion, Hennigan was present at the $5,000 Limit Hold'em event and had to face the legends James McManus, David Chiu and TJ Cloutier down the stretch. Shortly thereafter, Johnny World won his second World Series of Poker title and earned his second bracelet, along with the sum of $325,360.

Therefore, in 2014, Hennigan returned to the WSOP to compete in the $50,000 The Poker Players Championship tournament.
